Five New Illinois Laws That Will Impact New Trier Township Residents

Several new laws took effect in Illinois on January 1st that will impact New Trier Township residents. The minimum wage increased to $14 per hour as part of a gradual raise to $15 by 2025. A new law bans public libraries from removing books for partisan or ideological reasons, with financial penalties for noncompliance. A car theft hotline law requires manufacturers to collaborate with police to track stolen vehicles via GPS in counties with over 3 million residents. Vaping devices are now banned in public spaces like restaurants and hospitals under smoke-free laws. And a new law makes it a misdemeanor to intentionally disrupt lawful protests or pickets with physical barriers.

Find Fulfillment and Companionship: Adopt a Loyal Senior Pet

Wright-Way Rescue's Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program matches senior pets with senior citizens at reduced rates, helping both find joy and purpose in their golden years. This innovative Illinois program provides senior dogs and cats (aged 6+) loving homes, while seniors (62+) rediscover the cherished bonds of animal companionship.

Adoption fees are just $75 for dogs and $25 for cats. Wright-Way's caring counselors hand-select the perfect companion to match your lifestyle and home. Senior pets tend to be calmer and often already trained.

The benefits of senior adoption are profound. Decades of research shows animal friends lower stress and blood pressure, ease loneliness through affection and social connection, and reduce depression. Pets add meaning and brighten every day.

Give a deserving senior animal a happy forever home. Let an adoring pet companion bring you joy. Wright-Way's Seniors for Seniors program invites Illinois seniors to experience the therapeutic power of pets. More info Here
